In this project, we want to map distance of separation between parent and child to a range of colors. Instead of using the word Far and Close for the mapping, a cool, dull color such as dark blue would represent Far and a bright, energetic color such as yellow or orange would represent Near.
How do we show this color to the receiver?
Some ideas are:
- LCD display
- LEDs built into the pajama
- Electroluminescent Displays
However, as this display is on a wearable pajama, which is associated with a cozy and ambient feeling, electroluminescent materials are thought to be not as suitable.
Therefore, we thought of applying thermochromic inks directly onto fabric. Thermochromic inks are inks that changes color according to temperature.
